I talked to a friend of mine (Havamal) yesterday and he told me that he would like to join this Session. Since he had at least three Beer on the Oktoberfest before he told me this I will try to get another confirmation asap.

Havamal is a native speaker from Australia.

Hi, I'm glad this is filling up so quickly! Just to be sure, right now I'm kind of assuming we'll settle for 5 PC at most. That's just my laziness talking, however. So if someone is really pressing for it, I'll allow a sixth player (meaning, I'll have to re-design some of the encounters). Actually, let's aim for 6 PC because then people who signed up less than "voluntarily" (3 Mass??? that would equal 6 ordinary beer????? ts ts ts) dropping out last minute won't cause a problem.

I'm happy for people to create their own PC - 3rd level - and equally happy to provide pregens for those who want to jump in without having to bother with char gen. Just keep me posted here.

I'd gladly take one of the pregen chars, since I won't have time to build one of my own.

If I get to pick I'd prefer a warlock or a ranger! :-) If not: Please don't roll me a wizard :-D

UPDATE

Here's a list with the pre-gens. I'll distribute remaining characters at the session.

1. Elven Rogue
2. Human Wizard
3. Dwarf Cleric
4. Human Fighter

There are two more exotic backup characters for late-comers on Saturday.

If we are down to three or four players, I suggest MEATER picks a non-wizard character and controls the human wizard as a henchman. (That would be because he's actually quite familiar with playing 4E human wizards ;) .)

Hmm... looking at the list I guess I´ll take the punchbag. With a good fighter I can always crack some heads if im in trouble. Nothing can go wrong...

I'm in as well. Always wanted to try D&D 4. I can bring along some of the books (bought them, but haven't used them yet) as well as some minis if needed.

Achim, that's great! Thanks for joining. And yes, by all means, bring your copy of the Player's Handbook along. Any monster minis you have would come in handy too :)

@Szaki: picking the fighter isn't the straightforward choice it used to be in D&D. Fighters and wizards now enjoy the same level of mechanical complexity. Roleplaying a figher hasn't changed much, though. Just go for your favorite class in terms of general feel, or pick a random one on Saturday.

Since I've experience with both playing a wizard AND playing a wizard and another PC at the same time I'm confident I can do it again ;)

But since there might be more than 4 players I might still try and build a ranger tomorrow night, if I manage to come off work early enough. I'd love to play a class that I have absolutely no experience with!

Hope that's ok with Solongs plans of rushing us with Achim's Minis :)

Well, looks like my minis didn't find as much use as threatened. But at least for me, I had a lot of fun and would certainly be interested in a follow-up. After all, we still have to find our way back out of the tomb, and figure out what to do with that orb. I did promise the angel I would not let it fall into the wrong hands...

So is anybody else interested in continuing an English D&D group, and would somebody offer to DM?

@ Solong:
Don't forget, that you must play in my round in Dezember or so...
And I hope that every player liked the music or you will get the back-room never again;)

I really enjoyed the session! Thanks to everyone for a great time. For a random group this worked very well, a real pity that it was a one shot!

As I said, I'd gladly DM although I think I'd prefer to start over with new characters.

Since I already have a weekly D&D group I wouldn't want another with such a regular scheldue. On the other hand I'd prefer to have something more than a one shot. Something between every other week and once per month would feel fine for me, I guess.

I also think that the Rollenspieltreffen is not fit for playing regularly since we can't count on getting the one room every time (@gurgor: Thanks for letting us have the room! Would have been hard to stick to english with that noise level outside and german voices all around!).

So first question: Who would be interested in an english round (and what are your expectations regarding scheldue)? We'd need 5-6 people including GM!

And second question: Anybody got a fitting room to host?

Well, for me every second week (or maybe once a month if that is too often) would be fine, preferably on the weekend or maybe Friday evening, since I will not always be in Munich during the week.

Concerning the location: we could play at my place, there is enough space there.

If we decide to start over with new characters, we could also discuss if we want to play a different edition/system. I personally enjoyed the 4e (and I have the books), but I am open to trying something else if the others have certain preferences.

Hey Leo, you got here before me - I wanted to drop a special note of thanks!!! I remain convinced that my players wouldn't have taken the Angel of Retribution (http://www.ddmspoilers.com/atg_images/atg_angel_of_retribution.jpg) (nomen est omen) and other elements so seriously if I had not had that music to back these things up :)

thanks to the whole group! I wish my regular group in the UK was so bright and engaging. I feel like Meater - you guys should definitely try to make this a regular group. though I guess Oliver and Marianne won't be too keen on sticking with 4th Edition.;)

Hey everyone,
I also really enjoyed the game and think it would be great if we could have a regular meeting. I think once a month or once every three weeks would fit in best with my ridiculous teaching schedule. Saturday would probably be the best day for me.

Actually, I think it would be great to continue in 4.0. I've played 3rd edition for the past eight years. 4.0 is familiar enough that I know what I'm doing, but has the advantage of the occasional "they changed WHAT?" moment (which I have to admit, I rather enjoy). :P

Thanks for making my afternoon off so enjoyable!

Weekends would be fine by me as long as its only once a month or every other week (or something in between).

I'd also like to stick to 4E since I really like it so far and am curious to find out how it changes once the players reach higher levels and have more (and more powerful) powers.

I'd suggest playing the 4E adventures published by WotC either starting with Keep on Shadowfell or Scepter Tower of Spellgard (the first FR adventure to come out for 4E) and spice them up a bit with more NPCs and non-combat events (they are very combat heavy and dungeon crawly). Also I'd like to intruduce an setting of my own since I rather enjoy making things up than reading and memorizing supplement material.

I'm gonna start a Thread in the looking for group section of the forum since this one will move to the archive section soon.

*EDIT* Find the Thread here (http://www.doder.org/showthread.php?p=30912#post30912)

Achim, I just realised I incidentally kept one of your miniatures - the Rogue from the D&D basic game you kindly lent to Oliver. Sorry for this!

I think the easiest way for you to get your mini back will be for me to give it to MEAtER (I'm seeing him on Wednesday) and for him to give it to you when you game next. Hope that's ok.

Solong, no problem, just give it to MEATER. I guess I didn't want to take the treacherous rogue back home ;-)
